Medea, parenting at the theater is no child’s play!

Do you know it too? End of the month, no money left for a babysitter. Shortly before the evening performance, your friends cancel at short notice and you are left without care. Your parents live 500 km away. And now? Fritzi has to go to the theater with you ...

Theater professionals work at unusual hours - on holidays, at weekends, and, above all, in two-person shifts. At the same time, they often work under precarious working conditions - this applies to both permanent artists at publicly funded theaters and freelance artists. Little money, temporary contracts, evening work and high babysitting costs, caring duties, care work, etc. put many cultural workers to the test. Parenthood at the theater is no child's play!

We want to unite together for a structural improvement of the reconciliation of care work, family planning, and artists' careers in the cultural sector!
