Lea Najjar was raised between Vienna and Beirut. She completed her Freshman Year at the American University of Beirut in 2014 in Lebanon. In Juli 2021 she received her Diploma in Documentary Directing at Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg in Ludwigsburg, Germany.

Her first feature-length documentary, "Kash Kash", celebrated its world premiere at CPH: DOX in Copenhagen in 2022, where it won the NEXT: Wave Competition for Best Debut. The film was shown at over 20 international festivals and won the "First Steps Award" and the "Golden Frog" at Camerimage, among others. In 2023, "Kash Kash" was awarded the German Documentary Film Prize and was shown in cinemas across Germany.

In 2022 Lea worked as an international podcast and content producer for the Headspace App. Currently, she is a freelance filmmaker in Berlin and looking forward to being a participant in the Berlinale Talents 2024.
